Monthly Meetings

The Society has monthly meetings, held on the last Friday of the month (there are no meetings in December and August).

The Speakers' subjects cover a wide range, but always focus on the history of Ventnor and the surrounding area, and meetings are always entertaining and well attended. Over the past year we have looked at British Coastal Art with a presentation from Professor Robin McInnes, heard about the history of Island Elections from Richard Smout, been given an entertaining history of Ventnor Bowling Club by Colin Beavis and heard about 'The problems and pitfalls of Family History Research' from Judy Ballanger.

Meetings are held in the Masonic Hall on Grove Road, and start at 7.30 pm. They are free to members, and guests and visitors are always welcome (£2).

Coming meetings:

Friday 31 March 2017: Society Annual General Meeting. The meeting will be followed by a showing of 'Ventnor Unseen', our compilation of archive film and video with music from local musicians.
